Kastelruth. Night, end of party held by officers of machine gun unit. Some are out cold. Beinsteller and Fallota. Beinsteller pours the last of wine.
FALLOTA: More – more – to eat! More wine, come on!
WAITRESS: It’s almost two in the morning, Lieutenant, the kitchen -
BEINSTELLER: He said – more wine!
WAITRESS: We're closed now, Lieutenant – there’s no more!
BEINSTELLER: More – fucking - wine! (He leans forward and grabs the service revolver Fallota has in a holster; he shoots the waitress dead.)
